Undergraduate Studies
The Honors Program

The Honors Program is for students who seek greater challenges than are afforded in the regular major. There are two ways to pursue Honors: the Honors Contract and/or departmental honors through the Senior Thesis. Both allow the student wide lattitude in their choice of courses, while requiring that the program be significantly stronger than the traditional major. Students who wish to join the Honors Program should contact the ASC Honors Office located in Room 9, Denney Hall (292-5104).

The department offers the following courses specifically designated as honors: Classics Honorary Society:
Undergraduate majors and minors are invited to participate in Eta Sigma Phi, an Honorary Greek Letter Society whose purposes are to develop and promote interest in Classical study among students at the Ohio State University. The requirements for active membership are completion of Latin/Greek 101 and 102 (or equivalent) with an overall G.P.A. of 3.0, and a G.P.A. in all Classics, Latin and Greek courses of 3.5.
