Charles L. Babcock Rome Scholarship

An award of up to $1800 for travel to Rome or Italy to participate in a course of study or research program. Application is open to undergraduate majors or graduate students in Classics. Applicants are invited to apply at any time and to coordinate application for the award with application for the desired international program. Selection is typically announced in the spring quarter for summer or autumn travel, but may be announced at another time for other quarters. Application Form [PDF].

John Vaughn Travel Award

An award of $500 for an undergraduate or graduate student of Classics to travel to Greece to participate in a program or course of study that contributes to the student's undergraduate major or graduate degree program. Applicants are invited to apply at any time and to coordinate application for the award with application for the desired international program. Selection is typically announced in the spring quarter for summer or autumn travel, but may be announced at another time for other quarters. Application Form [PDF].

A.G. Woodhead Prize

A prize of $150 is awarded annually to the writer of the best graduate student research paper. Recipient is selected from nominations made by the faculty. Any paper written for any 800-900 level course, or presented as a Master’s paper or independent research paper. Award is announced in spring quarter.
